It's official -- there is a green alternative to every product you could possibly want. Including dildos. This morning a thoughtful friend slipped me an article out of Willamette Week about Earth Erotics, an online retailer of eco-friendly sex toys founded by a Portland couple. They started the business after realizing that the sex toy market isn't regulated by the FDA, and therefore products can be made from PVC and can contain phthalates. And I'm guessing if you don't want your kids sucking on toys containing phthalates, you probably don't want 'em in your Flexi Felix (sorry, you're gonna have to go to the site to find out what that is). They've got products made from Pyrex (no measuring cups), silicone, recycled innertubes and hemp seed oil. So there you go. Who says being green can't be fun?
