Natural hair spritz recipe
I'm on a roll here with the natural hygiene product recipes. We mixed this one up a few months ago to replace the "no more tears" type of hair detangler I'd been using on my kids' hair:
8 ounces distilled water
1 teaspoon aloe vera gel
1-2 drops of vegetable glycerine
1-2 drops essential oil
15 drops grapefruit seed extract
While it's taken me a while to get used to this detangler, I've come to like it much better than the store-bought, which is ridiculously smelly with chemical versions of strawberry and pear scents. This has a nice, natural smell (we chose lavender essential oil), and it does get the tangles out. We use daily, not just for detangling; My kids have curly hair, so we spritz the hairbrush with it each morning to give their curls a little lift (with only a dry brush it gets frizzy).
So the only thing that we still have left of the "no more tears" detangler is the spritz jar. I made up a new label with the recipe on it so that we can refill the jar when we run out. Shake well before each use, and enjoy!!
