Use white vinegar for dishwasher rinse aid

Are you a creature of habit? I am. So many of the things I learned to do around the house were from watching what my mom and dad did when I was growing up. We always had a dishwasher. We always used a rinse aid like Jet Dry. Recently I read that you can use distilled white vinegar as a rinse aid instead of Jet Dry. I can't wait to try it. And I love that there's one less artificially colored, chemical I will feel compelled to buy from the store! Do you use white vinegar as a dishwasher rinse aid? How does it work?
