Not your grandmother's craft bazaar

Tis the season for holiday bazaars, but don't shudder. Since Portland is a hotbed of indie creativity, there are a bunch of cool craft sales coming up:

Forest Market: Sustainable Holiday Fair: Sat/Sun, Dec. 1 & 2, 10am-4pm @ Tryon Creek State Park. Local vendors and artisans, as well as nature books and toys. If you go Saturday, join the nature walk from 10-11:30am.

I Heart Indie Holidays: Sun. Dec. 2, noon - 5pm @ Wonder Ballroom, 128 NE Russell St. Art, clothing, jewelry, cards and more from too many DIY creatives to mention. Check out the site for a full list of vendors.

Urban Art & Craft Holiday Bazaar: Wed. Dec. 5, 6-10pm @ Skincare by Raeleen, 8015 N. John Street. Hot cider, hors d'ouevres and gift items from Bonus Pants, Pretty Little, Stubborn Jewelry, Red Shed Pottery, Sleepyhead Pillowcases, Fandangled Applique Tees (adorable!) and many, many more.

Rebel Rabbit Holiday Craft Fair: Fridays, Dec. 9 & 16, Noon-5pm @ Hipbone Studio, 1847 E. Burnside. Oh, my. Check out the photos of the vendors. This will be a really, really hard one to pass up. I've bought the adorable Addie Pearl Jewelry for a 5 year old before. Great stuff!

Crafty Wonderland Super Colossal Holiday Sale: Friday, Dec. 16 11am-5pm @ Norse Hall, 111 NE 11th Ave. Oh, dear. Dec. 16 is looking really busy, because this is another not-to-miss event with a huge list of hip, DIY artisans offering up every manner of gifty goodies.
