Vancouver GreenGroup March meeting notes

We had a great turn-out for our Vancouver GreenGroup meeting last Friday. Below are some of the items we discussed:

Tara talked about the Sustainable Living on a Budget workshop that she attended. She said the workshop was full of information and she is still processing everything. Some of the things she wants to work on since attending are:
-Getting processed foods out of her kitchen
-Making her own bread, granola bars, etc.
-Getting rid of boxed cereals
-Joining a CSA
-Having fresh eggs delivered from Dee Creek Farms

We also discussed CSAs. You can check out Local Harvest to learn more and see what is available in your community.

Kathy talked about wanting to ensure her daughter is more environmentally aware and wants to be a good role model for her to follow. I am sure many of us feel the same way and hopefully we can work on this together.

Gardening was also a big topic of discussion. Some of us are interested in gardening this year and are planning to learn and share our experiences with each other.

We also talked about the possibility of doing a local clothing exchange event in Vancouver, which I think is a great idea. I will research this and report back.

We do not have our next meeting scheduled as of yet, but are hoping we'll meet again in April! I'll post again once the date/time is set.
