Lessening enviro impact by only having one child?

Looking for 15 minutes worth of fame? The Oregonian is seeking an EnviroMom or EnviroDad who opted to have just one child in an effort to reduce their environmental impact. Here's the scoop:

I'm a reporter at The Oregonian working on a story about only-child families and specifically wondering if there are any who made that decision mainly to lessen their environmental impact.
