Portland: Green Sprouts Organic Baby & Family Festival, Sept. 13

Last year Renee and I participated in our first Green Sprouts Festival -- we organized a baby/kid/maternity clothing swap and met a ton of cool people. This year we're coming back, but instead of swapping clothes, we're going to show parents how to throw green birthday parties! We'll have a booth set up loaded with ideas for no-waste parties and alternatives to the traditional gift-heavy, baggie-loaded-with-plastic-crap, paper-products-laden extravaganzas that so many kids have come to expect. We'll show you how to put the fun back into birthday parties! We'll have games for the kiddies to play and drawings for durable party goods. Come see us!

Green Sprouts, presented by the ReDirect Guide, is Saturday, September 13 from 10am-5pm at Peninsula Park in N. Portland. There will be over 70 exhibitors promoting natural, organic, green-centric family life: natural, non-toxic toys; cloth diapers; midwives, doulas and other natural health practitioners; green cleaning products; natural, organic clothing and accessories; natural home services (including lawn care!); and just a whole bunch of other great green businesses. Don't miss the entertainment and food court, plus workshops and seminars going on throughout the day. You will learn a ton about raising healthy, happy kids and be exposed to some amazing, progressive businesses dedicated to helping you along the way. See you there!?
