Portland: Have items to donate? Check out Donors Resource!

We've written about this awesome service before, but if you have momnesia like me then a gentle reminder now and then never hurts. Donors Resource is a Web site serving the Portland metro area that connects owners of stuff (aka everyone) with non-profits who need your stuff. Now, I like to donate certain items to a handful of favorite non-profit service agencies. But I also have stuff that I just don't know where to take.

For instance, my family has recently (unfortunately) acquired a set of crutches and a full-leg knee brace. When it comes time to get rid of these items (and a joyous day that will be) I'll list them on Donors Resource, a non-profit will claim them and I'll arrange delivery or pick-up of the items. Yep, I could just drop them off at a nearby thrift store, but I want these items to get into the hands of people who need them pronto. Same thing with that like-new nebulizer down in the basement. It's time for it to leave our home and serve another raspy child. So as you are cleaning out the closets, keep in mind that folks all over the Portland metro and SW Washington area truly need your stuff. Clothing, cleaning products, furniture, baby gear -- if you just don't know what to do with it, here's your solution!

Have a great weekend, all!
