Reuse: What to do with old Christmas cards?

Tara wondered about this on another post, and it got me to thinking about my own stash. Sure, you can recycle them, but it's better to reuse them and extend their lifetime. Three ideas:

  1. I think the only thing I've ever done is to cut out pieces of cards and make gift tags.
  2. I also just read a cute idea: rip the cover off the card, roll it into a tube and fill it with candy or a (very) small gift. You could fold down the ends or stuff them with tissue to hold in the contents.
  3. Make a small gift box. Check out this Crafty Pod post, which gives great directions.Craftypod

I know there used to be an organization where you could donate your cards and senior citizens would use them to make new cards or other craft items, but I can't remember what it was called. I saw some cards at SCRAP, but I wonder if they would rather take them before Christmas than after.

Any other Christmas card reuse ideas out there?

Renee and I will be back on the 26th. Have a wonderful Christmas!
