Car Seat Recycling & Safety Saturday, Oct. 9 in Tualatin

Here is one of those infrequent-but-vital opportunities to recycle your old, used car seat. Portland is still one of the only places in the country where this service is offered, so consider yourselves lucky! You can, on occasion, donate seats that have not yet expired and have never been in a car accident to a non-profit organization, such as NW Children's Outreach (but call first to verify). Or hand them down to a friend. Thankfully we have the recycling option as well. The event details:

Join us for our 2nd annual Safety Saturday, a morning devoted to helping your family stay safe. Bicycle and multi-sport helmets will be available for a reduced rate of $5 (cash or check only) including fitting. Kids can bring in their own helmets for correct fitting and adjustments. Free car safety seat checks conducted by Certified Passenger Safety Technicians. Recycle your used, outdated or damaged car safety seats. Visit the Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue Safety House and the child injury prevention display brought to you from the Safety Store at The Children's Hospital at Emanuel.
